The Bible does not support the modern concept of a "boyfriend / girlfriend" type relationship. In the Bible we find there are friendships and there are marriages, but there is nothing in between such as what we call a boyfriend or girlfriend. This is a recent invention and it is not biblical. In fact, in most BF / GF relationships there is physical contact, and in the absence of a marriage committment this is absolutely sinful. Very clearly God has required a committment through marriage BEFORE any type of physical contact is permissible. Christ taught that it is good for a man not to touch a woman, and so even without having sex relations it is still sinful to touch one another in any romantic way. This may seem very impractical and incompatible with our modern society, nevertheless this is the biblical ideal that we should follow if we call ourselves Christians. Just a few generations ago these biblical standards were still practiced, but we have departed from this morality today.

The Bible clearly states that a romantic relationship is to be between a man and a woman only and is for marrige only. All other types of romantic relations are excluded and are called sin. Before entering into a marriage committment there may be a time of bethrothal, and perhaps even a supervised non-sexual short-term cortship, but there is never to be any type of thing such as we see in the modern BF / GF relationship which often resembles a "trial marriage" in every way (living together, marital relations, etc) except there is no unbreakable mutual committment in the way it is required by God.

The purpose of this website is not to condemn anybody, but since this is a Christian based prayer site it would hypocritcal for us to sanction something so clearly prohibited in the Bible. Only a fool would pray for something that the Bible already tells us is unacceptable to God.

Please do not send prayer requests that relate to BF / GF relationship issues. They will not get posted. If you truely love your "partner" and you would like prayer for your relationship with them, then please submit your request so that it conforms to the marriage teachings of the Bible and we will gladly post it.
